UEFA

UEFA stands for the Union of European Football Associations. It is the governing body for soccer (football) in Europe and is one of six continental football associations under FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association). UEFA is responsible for organizing national and club competitions across Europe, including prestigious tournaments such as the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and the UEFA European Championship (Euros). Established in 1954, UEFA provides oversight for the rules and regulations of the game, promotes the sport throughout the continent, and works towards developing football at all levels in its member associations. Its headquarters are located in Nyon, Switzerland.
